Whimsical Lady Metal

With all the Black Metal talk lately. Toys, tattoos, black Truth of A Liar metal tshirts, I was happy to stumble on this illustrator, – Miss Ali Horn hailing from Glasgow, United Kingdom. She takes a lot of her inspiration  from black metal culture.

Her style reminds  me of vintage New Yorker comics mixed with Black Metal badassness. Yeah I said it… badassness. Miss Ali has a book available that she publishes herself , ‘Black Metal Ritvals’, which affectionately pokes fun at black metal. The book comes with a Black Metal Lineage foldout poster and is available here.

Approx $1.30 per bowl plus nutritious. If you can find HooRooRook approx $4.98 for a family pack of 5, available at Asian groceries. I buy mine at the Korean spot round the way. Hoo Roo is top because noodles have no msg, and are baked instead of fried.

1. Put your water to boil.
2. Slice some bokchoy, carrots, scallions, whatever veg or other matter you have in your fridge in bowl. Sushi seaweed works here.
3. Add noodles and flavor packs to boiling water and wait 3 mins.
4. Add noodles to bowl.
5. Flavor with some soy or hot sauce. Whatevs
6. Slurp

Galerie Yves Laroche is housing two heavyweights with Shawn Barber and Turf One. Word has it that these two have a collabo to be unveiled at the opening Sept 2. 09, Montreal, QC, Canada. The exhibition runs from Sept 2 – 13.
